Disjecta Biennial Closing Celebration & Artist Talk
Saturday, April 28 / 5-10 pm / Free

Meet and talk to the artists of Portland2012: A Biennial of Contemporary Art as they discuss their work in the gallery on Saturday, April 28th starting at 5 pm. Matt McCormick, Erik Geschke Mack McFarland and other artists included at Disjecta's Portland2012 venue will discuss their work. Stay after (or join us later) for the closing party featuring a live set from Portland band Alameda. 6-10 pm. Free. Sponsored by 107.1 fm KZME.

ALAMEDA is the new Portland-based outfit founded by singer/guitarist Stirling Myles and cellist Jessie Dettwiler, joined by guitarist Tim Grimes, orchestral Clarinetist Jennifer Woodall and well-known violinist Kate O'Brien-Clarke. Compared to the baroque pop of Nick Drake and the slow-core dream pop of early Low, ALAMEDA blends orchestral arrangements with modern instrumentation blurring the lines of genres and moods and offering a lush backdrop for Myles' folk-inspired songs.
